WATCH: Nigerian Govt Arrest Two Teenagers, Seal Hotel Indefinitely For ‘Lodging Underage Girls’
The Katsina State Hisbah Board has shut down the New Palace Hotel following allegations of activities corrupting the morals of underage girls.
A statement signed by its Commander General, Dr. Aminu Usman, disclosed that the board’s operation team visited the hotel and arrested two underage girls in the same room, which is against the law of the board.
Usman alleged that it was the second time such an incident occurred in the hotel.
“It was during the first time you promised not to repeat it again and requested the board for tempering justice with mercy as it was the first violation of the board’s conditions by your hotel’s management.
“You may further wish to recall that during our joint interactive meeting with all the hotel managers in the board’s conference hall with which you were one of the attendees, it was agreed that all hotel managers will not attend minors/underage in the hotel premises and whoever found not in compliance with the agreed conditions of the board will be dealt with accordingly.”
“In view of the above, having observed the management of the hotel are not ready to comply with the boards condition’s; the board is left with no other option but to close your hotel indefinitely,” the statement read.
