BREAKING: Many Feared Killed As Terrorists Attack Zamfara Community Again
No fewer than five people have been shot by terrorists in Magazu community in the Tsafe local government area of Zamfara State, northwest Nigeria.
A resident of the community who confirmed this incident to SaharaReporters said the bandits invaded the area and began to shoot indiscriminately to scare away local vigilantes who might have stopped their operation on Sunday.
He added that the bandits looted many properties from the community and shot five people.
“They came on motorbikes and were armed. The local vigilantes could not withstand them. I know at least five people were shot and they stole people’s belongings. Other residents tried to rush those who were shot to a nearby hospital,” the source said.
He added that he could not ascertain if any of the people who were shot eventually died because the situation in the town got worse and he had to flee.
“We are talking about guns, I did not even stay in the town again after the incident and that is why I could not say if any of these people later died,” he added.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Yezid Abubakar did not answer calls to seek his reaction and get an update on the incident. He had not replied to the WhatsApp message sent to him at the time of filing the report as well.
