2023 Presidential Election: A Northerner Should Not Be Elected President Nor Vice President
A Northerner should not be elected president nor vice president. Presently, no Nigerian youth have ever witnessed this kind of set up before. It is either a Northerner is President or the Vice President of Nigeria.
No youth presently have ever witnessed a situation whereby a Northerner is neither the President nor the Vice President of Nigeria.
This might be surprising to some of us, but it is true. Funny enough, some of our parents born after 1968 are yet to witness it as well. They only heard the story.
The last time we had this kind of set up was back in 1966. Aguiyi-Ironsi was the Military Head of State then and Babafemi Ogundipe was the de facto second in command.
That was the only time in Nigerian history that a Northerner was not involved. Ironsi was from Abia State, while Babafemi was from Ogun State.
Since then, we have had over 13 administrations with a Northerner involved in all of them. To play fair, the Northern region should allow other regions to take the two positions in 2023.
There is no harm in trying something new. These could even help in reducing the tensions in the land.
For this to happen, no Northerner should come out for those positions in 2023. The APC and the PDP should not feed in any Northerner. We have lots of capable hands in the Southeast, Southwest and South-south.

2023 Presidential Election: A Northerner Should Not Be Elected President Nor Vice President
This gesture would go a long way to prove that the North is truly committed to the “One Nigeria Project”. All those fighting to break away from Nigeria would have a second thought if this is carried out. This is the only answer to the peace we have all been craving for. Allowing others to rule is not defeat.
A Northerner should not be elected president nor vice president, this is a very good proposal. I would love to hear your thoughts concerning this proposal.
