Newly Appointed APC Media Director Rejects Position
In a surprising turn of events, Mr. John Mayaki, the newly appointed Director of New Media for the Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Election Campaign Council, has rejected the offer, citing personal reasons for his decision.
In a statement released on Sunday in Benin, Mayaki expressed his gratitude for being considered for the position but explained that he had declined the offer due to potential conflicts arising from his working relationship with another individual initially considered for the role.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining a harmonious work environment and avoiding uncomfortable situations.
Mayaki stated, “I have communicated my decision to the relevant leaders before the final announcement. As a person of faith, I strive to live by principles that promote peace, integrity, and goodwill.” He added that he did not wish to hold grudges or engage in actions that could sour relationships.
This development comes on the heels of the resignation of Francis Inegbeniki, the vice chairman of the APC in Edo State, who stepped down from his position citing conflicts with his principles and values.
In a letter addressed to the ward chairman of Opoji, Esan Central Local Government, Inegbeniki expressed concerns over recent developments within the party in his local government area and the state, prompting him to reevaluate his political future.
Mayaki’s decision to decline the appointment underscores the importance of personal integrity and ethical considerations in political engagements, highlighting the complexities and challenges faced by individuals navigating the political landscape.
