‘Buhari Resisted Pressure To Hand Over To Tinubu’ — Baba-Ahmed

The national chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has alleged that former President Muhammadu Buhari resisted pressure from some political figures who insisted that President Bola Tinubu should succeed him in 2023.
Baba-Ahmed claimed that Buhari viewed Tinubu as “bad news” for Nigeria and was reluctant to transfer power to him.
He made the allegation during a summit organised by the Northern Elders Forum, according to a video of the event published on Symfoni’s YouTube channel on Saturday.
The PRP leader also questioned Tinubu’s declaration of “Emilokan,” meaning “it is my turn,” during the campaign leading up to the 2023 presidential election.

“Even Buhari saw Tinubu as bad news for this country. In fairness to him, he is not around him. Buhari resisted some people who insisted it had to be Tinubu,” he alleged.
Baba-Ahmed subsequently criticised Tinubu’s administration, claiming that the country had experienced a significant decline under the president’s leadership.
He described Nigerians as resilient and expressed confidence that the country would overcome its current difficulties despite what he characterised as abuse, neglect and plunder under the administration.
According to him, Nigeria must survive its present challenges to secure a better future for coming generations.
‘Every Index Of Failure Shows In Tinubu’s Administration’
Baba-Ahmed accused Tinubu of placing his political ambition above the interests of Nigerians, arguing that the administration had failed to deliver satisfactory results across key areas.
