BREAKING: Terrorists Kill Many Policemen In Deadly Attack On Patrol Team

No fewer than three policemen have reportedly lost their lives after suspected bandits attacked a police patrol team in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
Naija News House gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Damba Division, at about 2am.
A source familiar with the incident, who requested anonymity, said the officers were conducting a night patrol when the bandits ambushed them.
The attackers reportedly opened fire on the police team, leaving their patrol vehicle riddled with bullets.
A photograph of the vehicle shows several bullet holes on its body. The van bears the inscription: “DAMBA DIVISION, ZAMFARA STATE, DONATED BY: ZAMFARA STATE GOVT.”
However, the state police command had not issued an official statement confirming the attack as of the time this report was filed.
The incident comes amid renewed security concerns in Zamfara following a recent attack on traders travelling under military escort.
In that incident, gunmen reportedly killed 20 people, including four soldiers, three police officers, an NSCDC officer and 12 civilians.
The convoy was reportedly travelling from Gwashi to Nasarawa Market in Bukkuyum Local Government Area when it was ambushed.
Zamfara remains one of the states affected by persistent banditry, with armed groups frequently attacking villages, kidnapping residents for ransom and stealing livestock.
