APC Appoints Dr. Umar Majigi as Substantive Director of ICT
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the appointment of Dr. Umar Majigi as the substantive Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of the Party.
The appointment reflects Dr. Majigi’s proven expertise, professionalism, and sustained contributions to the development and continuous upgrading of the APC’s ICT systems.
Dr. Majigi holds a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity Science, alongside other academic and professional qualifications in web design, programming, and data processing. Before his confirmation as Director, he served as Assistant Director of ICT at the Party’s National Secretariat and was later elevated to Acting Director of ICT, where he provided both strategic leadership and operational oversight.
During his tenure as Acting Director, Dr. Majigi played a critical role in the development and strengthening of the APC’s ICT infrastructure. He supervised data management systems and deployed digital solutions that enhanced the Party’s internal operations nationwide.
Most notably, he was instrumental in the successful implementation of the Party’s membership e-registration system, a project that significantly improved the credibility, efficiency, and accessibility of the APC’s membership database.
His appointment as substantive Director of ICT underscores the APC’s commitment to merit-based leadership, institutional continuity, and the strengthening of internal capacity through the elevation of experienced and competent personnel.
