Christmas: Hon. Ekpenyong Hosts Council Staff, Distributes Rice, Others
The atmosphere was merry and bright at Uruan Local Government Council as staff gathered for their annual end-of-the-year Thanksgiving and get-together.
The Chairman of Uruan Local Government, Akwa Ibom state, Hon. Surv. Iniobong Ekpenyong, was joined by the Vice Chairman; Hon. Grace Edem, Hon. Sunday Bassey; Leader, Council Secretary; Arc. Destiny Edet, Councilors, and Directors of the Local Government on Monday, December 23, at Development Hall.
During the event, the Council Chairman expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Staff, Directors, and Councilors for their exceptional and dedicated team spirit, while also encouraging them to remain committed to serve the Local Government Council and the people.
Hon. Ekpenyong also commended Mr. Udo, who reached service milestones for the Local Government, thanking him for his diligence, cooperation, and commitment while praying for God’s blessing and good health upon him.
He, however, appreciated Governor Umo Eno for showing leadership in staff welfare in Akwa Ibom, noting that his administration is committed to human capital development and has commenced the renovation of the Adiadia Divisional Police station, and steps have been taken to permanently evacuate the water log from the council secretariat to provide a more conducive environment for staff, being his commitment to put UruanFirst.
The event’s highlights included the presentation of a parting gift to Mr. Francis, the rendition of Christmas songs, exhortation and praise/worship, and the distribution of rice/cash to staff, goodwill messages from the Head of service, Leader of the legislature, Director of Admin, NULGE Chairman, among others.
