Following the forthcoming Akwa Ibom local government elections, the Igbo community has pledged their unwavering support to Survy Iniobong Ekpenyong, Chairman of Uruan Local Government Area, in his re-election bid.
This declaration was made during a visit by Igbo community leaders, a non-indigenous group, to the Chairman, where they expressed their unshakeable confidence in his leadership and vision.
Through their Chapter Chairman, EZE Alex Obi, the Igbo community leaders articulated their commitment to mobilizing all non-indigenes from Uruan extraction to vote for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming election.

NNH gathered that, Surv. Ekpenyong was elected as uruan local government Boss in 2020, after his successful three years tenure, he was appointed as Transition Committee Chairman.
NNH understand that, Surv. Ekpenyong was the first council chairman that was elected through oral and attitude test in the history of Nigeria.
In 2019, Ekpenyong won the overall best Surveyor in Nigeria.
