2027: Isaac Fayose Tells Atiku to Abandon ADC, Back Peter Obi on NDC Platform

Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has urged former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar to consider joining forces with Peter Obi under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Fayose’s call followed the Federal High Court judgment in Abuja on Thursday, which sacked the Senator David Mark-led ADC executives and nullified decisions taken by the party’s leadership, including actions relating to Atiku’s emergence as its presidential candidate.
Reacting to the development, Fayose advised Atiku to examine the court’s decision closely, while questioning the independence of Nigeria’s judiciary.
“Atiku should go and study that judgment very well; he will notice something fishy. Our judiciary is no longer independent,” Fayose stated.
He further criticised the increasing attention Nigerian youths give to online controversies, saying more attention should be directed towards issues affecting the country’s development.
According to him, the current political situation presents an opportunity for Atiku to set aside personal and political differences and support Obi under the NDC platform.
“Please, Atiku, this is the time to join forces with Peter Obi in the NDC to pursue the APC out of power,” he said.
The judgment has sparked fresh political uncertainty within the ADC, particularly regarding its leadership and preparations for the 2027 general election.
The party has, however, indicated plans to challenge the judgment at the appellate court.
Fayose’s recommendation has further fuelled conversations about the possibility of a united opposition front against the APC in the next general election.
