WATCH: ‘Give Us AK-47’: Video Captures Suspected Izala Youths Threatening Enugu, Jos Residents

A viral video has captured a group of youths reportedly linked to the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), popularly known as Izala, chanting for AK-47 rifles and threatening to attack people in Enugu State and Jos, Plateau State.

The footage, obtained by Naija News House , shows the youths jogging in formation during what appears to be an organised physical exercise while singing about travelling to the two cities and attacking people they refer to as “infidels.”
At different points in the recording, the group repeatedly demands AK-47 rifles, with a speaker calling for firearms to carry out attacks against people in the named locations.
The speaker specifically talks about travelling to Enugu on a Sunday to open fire on people attending religious services. He describes the city as a “land of infidels” and makes sounds imitating gunfire.
He later mentions Jos, threatening to kill more people he describes as “infidels.”
The youths are heard chanting, “Give us AK-47,” before repeatedly declaring their intention to travel to Enugu.
“We should go to Enugu. We should go to Enugu. We should go to Enugu,” they sing while jogging.
The group continues with chants referencing locations where they claim “infidels” are found, as well as Sunday gatherings and people celebrating.
At another point, the speaker and the group repeat the words, “I will give them fire,” in what appears to be a threatening reference to violence.
The demand for firearms continues throughout the exercise, with the youths repeatedly chanting, “Give us AK-47,” before shifting their attention to Jos.
“We should go to Jos. We should go to Jos,” the group sings.
JIBWIS, or Izala, is a major Salafi Islamic movement in Nigeria. It was founded in Jos in February 1978 by Sheikh Isma’ila Idris.
The video has triggered concerns over the language used in the chants, particularly the apparent threats against residents and people attending religious services in Enugu and Jos.
It remains unclear when and where the footage was recorded, whether the individuals are confirmed members of JIBWIS, or whether any security agency has investigated the threats contained in the video.
