JUST IN: Vacate Nassarawa Mini Palace Now, Kano Government Orders Bayero
Following the Federal High Court’s ruling on Thursday, which nullified the steps taken in repealing the Kano Emirates Council Law, the Kano State government has instructed the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero to vacate the Nassarawa Mini Palace.
During a press conference, Kano State Attorney General Haruna Isah Dederi emphasised the necessity for renovations at the palace, which is state-owned property.
Dederi asserted that the High Court’s decision supports the state government’s actions, reiterating that Emir Muhammad Sanusi is the legitimate emir of the prestigious Kano Emirate.
Consequently, Aminu Ado Bayero’s presence at the Nassarawa Mini Palace is deemed as trespassing.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had previously ordered Bayero’s eviction and arrest on May 25, 2024, citing his removal and the resultant tension within the state.
However, attempts to arrest Bayero were thwarted as security forces, including soldiers and police officers, guarded the mini-palace to prevent his detention.
