Information reaching us has it that a former Deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Obadiah Mailafia has said that the Federal Government under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari paid a man from Niger Republic a huge sum to purchase arms for Nigeria.
Mailafia wondered the business a man from Niger Republic has with Nigeria that would make the FG trust him with such a sensitive task.
The former CBN Deputy Governor spoke on Tuesday morning while featuring on African Independent Television programme, State of The Nation monitored by VANTAGE NEWS.
He said, “A man from Niger was given money to purchase arms for the Federal Republic of Nigeria. What business does a man from Niger Republic have with Nigeria that he can be trusted with such sensitive responsibility.”
Mailafia, who lamented over the rising insecurity in the country, said that the current administration has given up on the economy.
