2027: Peter Obi, Kwankwaso Feature as NDC Unveils National Campaign Council
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken another step towards the 2027 general elections with the unveiling of its National Campaign Council, featuring presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in prominent leadership roles.
Under the new arrangement, former Bayelsa State Governor and NDC National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, will head the council as chairman, while Obi has been appointed co-chairman.

Kwankwaso will serve as co-vice-chairman, alongside the party’s National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, who was named vice-chairman.
Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim has been appointed Director-General of the presidential campaign, while National Secretary Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu will serve as the council’s secretary. Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, is also part of the campaign team.
The party said the council would be responsible for coordinating nationwide campaign operations, developing strategic plans and mobilising Nigerians behind its proposed vision for a “new, just, and prosperous Nigeria.”
It added that its campaign would focus on people-oriented policies and national development, with the council expected to coordinate the activities of all its candidates contesting presidential, legislative and governorship elections, as well as state assembly seats.
The unveiling signals the party’s preparations to strengthen its nationwide campaign structure ahead of the 2027 polls.
