How We Paid Warder N50,000 Each To Escaped From Nigerian Prison, Armed-Robbers Confesses
The Nigerian police force has arrested awarder attached to the Kirikiri Custodial Centre, Lagos State, Kayode Fatombi, for assisting some armed robbery suspects to escape the Lagos custodial center.
However, after the suspects escaped, theywere tracked and caught and during interrogation, they confessed that they gave the warder money to allow them to escape. The suspects confessed that they paid him N500,000 each.
Investigate later disclosed that the warder, Kayode Fatombi, allowed the suspects to escape when he was leading them out of the prison under the pretence that he was taking them somewhere. He claimed that the suspects overpowered him and ran away while he was leading them out.
The warder has been dismissed and he will be arraigned on Monday. However, it was revealed that the warder provided some of the information the police used to arrest the suspects. The two suspects are expected to undergo trial for their escape from prison, armed robbery, and kidnapping.
