After Bragging, Insulting, Demoted Apostolic Church Pastor Ikpe Begs For Help
Following a recent dispute between Pastor Sunday Ikpe of the Apostolic Church Nigeria, Gwagwalada Area, FCT Field, and the church council, Ikpe has made several attempts to seek forgiveness and be reinstated as an Apostle, NNH reports.
NNH earlier reported that The Apostolic Church Nigeria, FCT Field, demoted Apostle Ikpe to district pastor and transferred him to Victory District under the Kubwa Area.

Multiple sources told NNH that the demoted Ikpe has sent numerous apologies through phone calls, messages, and other means to Apostles and BoT members, asking them to plead with the field superintendent to reverse his demotion and transfer.
However, sources indicate that the church council is unlikely to consider his apologies.
NNH learned that Pastor Ekanem has already received a letter to replace the demoted Pastor Ikpe next month in July.
Pastor Ekanem’s reception will be held next Sunday in preparation for his move to Gwagwalada as Area Supervisor.
Another source said that the demoted Pastor Ikpe was seriously disgraced while trying to find a position in the Apostolic Church Nigeria, Blessed Field, in case the FCT Field refused to reverse his demotion and transfer.
NNH also learned that Ikpe was one of the most benefited pastors in the FCT Field.
He was among the pastors sent to Bible college, married through church support, and anointed as a pastor.
Before the church council decided to demote Ikpe, he committed several offenses that the council often overlooked.
According to a source, if the church continued to overlook his actions, other pastors might follow suit, leading to more significant issues.
The source noted that this demotion is just the beginning, and Ikpe’s full file of offenses will now be reviewed.
Demoted Ikpe is the first Apostle in the FCT Field to find himself in such a predicament.
In conversations with some members of the Apostolic Church, NNH learned that Ikpe is perceived as very rude, arrogant, harsh, pride, insulting, and lacking manners.
Journalist Mr. Dominic Edem recounted how the demoted Ikpe threatened to suspend or sue him for publishing a story about the pastor’s wife in 2020 if not his uncle’s intervention.
“When Ikpe was Nyanya Area Superintendent and FCT Field Acting Secretary, I published a story about a pastor’s wife that generated issues in the field.
Instead of Ikpe calling me to ask questions, he started blasting, abusing, cursing, and threatening me with suspension or a court order.
As a human being and not yet a journalist then, I was seriously scared.
I had to bring down the story immediately to avoid suspension or court action.
He even issued me a warning letter.
Because of that, I stopped going to the Apostolic Church until some members discovered my absence and encouraged me to return,” said the journalist.
Another member said, during Demoted Pastor Ikpe sentforth at Nyanya Area in 2022, the church auditorium was empty compared with other pastors because of his character with members.
Another member said, Ikpe was too proud, rude when he was field acting secretary, talking to people anyhow, nobody should have mercy on him.
I really pity pastor Ubong Omega, the district pastor of Gwagwalada because Demoted Ikpe has stopped members from giving him food, said another member.
An investigation revealed that the demoted Ikpe is still parading himself as the FCT Field Secretary despite Pastor U. A. David of Kado Area being appointed to the position.
Another source said that there is no section where demoted Ikpe does not have issues.
As Ikpe is demoted to district pastor, he will no longer have control over any area.
Previously, as Area Superintendent of Gwagwalada, he controlled four districts, receiving 60,000 Naira monthly from three districts (20,000 each) and 30,000 Naira from another district as a monthly feeling allowance.
Now, no district will give him such funds except his own district.
NNH also learned that Ikpe was previously in the Kubwa Area and has now been transferred back there as a district pastor, not as an apostle.
Ikpe’s significant challenge is his inability to keep secrets; anything told to him eventually becomes public knowledge, sources said.
Recall that NNH reported how Ikpe vowed not to accept his transfer and demotion to district pastor.
This online medium also learned that Ikpe refused to collect his demotion letter twice.
The demoted Ikpe is now seeking help both in the FCT Field and the Blessed Field.
