BREAKING: Nigerian Pastor Kills His Pregnant Wife
The Ekiti State Police Command has detained a pastor named Abiodun Sunday Oluwadare, also referred to as Ara-ina, on suspicion of killing his eight-month pregnant wife Tosin Oluwadare over the weekend in Ido-Ile Ekiti.
The suspect, who identified himself as a former well-known herbalist, was allegedly sent to a well-liked Christ Apostolic Church in Ori Oke Ido Mountain in Ekiti West. This church had previously dismissed him for kidnapping a child.
According to the authorities, the suspect attempted to escape with his wife’s corpse for the foetal evacuation in her womb without her parents’ permission after strangling the health worker. Some Ita-Ido locals caught him and turned him over to the police.
The deceased, her mother’s sole child, was lawfully wed to the suspect and gave birth to two children on his behalf. It’s reported that the deceased’s mother has been in a coma ever since the incident.
Oba Aderemi Obaleye, the Olojudo of Ido-Ile, denounced the event and demanded a thorough inquiry and the prosecution of the offender. He claimed that when the youngsters demonstrated against the pastor, the situation almost started a riot in the community.
ASP Sunday Abutu, the state police spokeswoman, verified the occurrence and stated that the defendant would be charged in court shortly. He urged everyone to maintain composure and gave them assurances that justice will be served.
