Uruan Indigenes In Abuja holds Reception in Honour Of Senator Bassey
Indigenes of Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, under the auspicies of Esop Ndito Uruan Abuja has finalised plans to host a formal reception in honour of Senator Aniekan Bassey, Senator Representing Akwa North East (Uyo) Senatorial District, and the Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora in the 10th National Assembly.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place within the end of the year get-together of Esop Ndito Uruan, Abuja, on 14 December, 2025 at Water Fountain Event Centre, off Ahmadu Bello Way, After Next Cash-and-Carry, (Behind A. A. Rano) Kado Kuchi, Abuja by 2:00 pm
According to the president of Esop Ndito Uruan, Abuja, Barr. Mike Akpan, this year’s end of the year get-together will, among others, provide the opportunity for the Esop to formally receive and welcome one of Uruan’s illustrous sons, Distinguished Senator Aniekan Bassey to the Esop, as well as the investiture of Patrons of the Esop. The President observed that Senator Bassey is the first indigene of Uruan to achieve the position of Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing Uyo Senatorial District, since the creation of the Constituency, which has eight (8) other Local government areas aside Uruan.
Some of the dignitaries expected at the event include the newly appointed Managing Director, South-South Development Commission, Ms Usoro Akpabio, the President, Akwa Ibom Community Abuja, and President of Uyo Senatorial District Forum in Abuja.
Esop Ndito Uruan Abuja, is the socio-Cultural association of all indigenes of Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State residing in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The Principal objective of the group is to foster a sense of unity, solidarity and fraternity among members, and also encourage members’ participation in development of the home community in Uruan Local Government Area.
