The Federal Government has released ₦38.93 billion to 166 public tertiary institutions nationwide to support infrastructure development and improve the quality of teaching and learning.
The disbursement, made under the Needs Assessment Revitalisation Fund, covers 79 universities, 46 polytechnics and 41 colleges of education.

The Federal Ministry of Finance disclosed this in a press release, noting that the funding would support approved projects addressing infrastructure gaps and other pressing institutional requirements.
A breakdown of the allocations shows that 79 universities received ₦28.5 billion, while 46 polytechnics were allocated ₦5.8 billion.
Similarly, 41 colleges of education received a total of ₦4.7 billion under the intervention programme.
The Federal Government said the funding forms part of its broader commitment to revitalising public tertiary institutions and implementing agreed measures under the Memorandum of Understanding with the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The intervention is expected to help beneficiary institutions execute approved projects, improve their facilities and strengthen their capacity to deliver quality education.
The ministry also stressed the importance of coordination between the Ministries of Finance and Education, alongside beneficiary institutions, to ensure proper implementation of the projects and effective utilisation of public funds.
It explained that the ultimate goal was to translate the financial intervention into measurable improvements in educational infrastructure and institutional capacity across the country.
