OYEDELE: Fasoranti’s Century Of Service Leaves Enduring Lessons For Nigerian Leaders

The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, has described the late Pa Reuben Fasoranti as an outstanding elder statesman whose century-long life exemplified integrity, principled leadership, and selfless service.
In a tribute mourning the passing of the revered Afenifere leader, Oyedele said Fasoranti’s contributions to public administration, particularly his service as Commissioner for Finance in the old Ondo State, remain a source of inspiration for public officials.
He recalled that Fasoranti served under the administration of Chief Michael Ajasin, where his record reflected the importance of prudent financial management, accountability, and ethical stewardship of public resources.
The minister emphasised that the late elder statesman’s legacy should inspire leaders to prioritise the public interest and embrace the values of fairness, discipline, and responsible governance.
Oyedele, an indigene of Ondo State, expressed deep sympathy with the people of the state, noting that Fasoranti’s passing represents a significant loss to his family, the Yoruba socio-political community, and the nation at large.
He said the greatest way to preserve the late statesman’s legacy is to continue upholding the principles he represented throughout his years of public service.
The minister extended his deepest condolences to the Fasoranti family, the Afenifere community, and the people of Ondo State, praying that the soul of the departed elder statesman rests in perfect peace.
