2027: APC Appeals to Nigerians to Re-elect Tinubu, Cites Achievements

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, saying it will rely on the achievements of his administration to convince voters to grant him a second term.
The appeal was made by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, following a meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.

Yari, who previously served as governor of Zamfara State, attended the meeting alongside APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda to brief the president on preparations for the forthcoming campaign.
He said the party had adopted a strategy focused on presenting its performance in government to Nigerians instead of resorting to verbal attacks against opposition figures.
Yari explained that the APC would highlight its policies, programmes and achievements as it seeks to persuade voters that Tinubu deserves another term in office.
The campaign director-general maintained that the party was committed to conducting a responsible campaign that would allow Nigerians to evaluate the administration’s record.
“We are going to do a campaign with the records. A responsible campaign, no insults, no calling of names,” he said.
Yari further appealed to Nigerians to examine the government’s performance and consider the importance of continuity under the Tinubu administration.
“We are asking, pleading with Nigerians to look at this record carefully so that they give us a second chance for continuity,” he stated.
The APC is expected to formally launch its nationwide presidential campaign in Kaduna on Saturday as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 election.
Also speaking, Yilwatda said the party had received support from several political parties that had previously contested against it, naming the PDP, APGA and Accord Party among those he claimed were now backing Tinubu’s re-election.
He argued that the development demonstrated the growing political alignment behind the president’s second-term ambition.
“If you look at what the party is doing now, the opposition is with us. All political parties that have defeated us in any election are all with us,” the APC national chairman said.
Yilwatda maintained that the party was working to consolidate the reported support as it prepares for the campaign’s formal launch in Kaduna.
However, the claims about opposition parties backing Tinubu reflect the APC chairman’s account and should not be taken as confirmation that the parties have formally endorsed the president.
