TCN Restores Karu–Keffi–Akwanga Transmission Line After Rebuilding Three Fallen Towers

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored the Karu–Keffi–Akwanga 132kV transmission line after completing the reconstruction of three towers that collapsed earlier this month.

The affected towers, identified as T78, T79 and T80, were successfully rebuilt, with the restoration work completed at 5:31 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
TCN said the restoration has reinstated the transmission route supplying the 132/33kV Keffi and Akwanga Transmission Stations.
The towers collapsed on October 7 following heavy rainfall and strong winds, necessitating reconstruction by the company’s maintenance crew.
The successful completion of the work marks the restoration of the affected transmission infrastructure.
TCN reiterated its commitment to strengthening and maintaining the national transmission network to support the reliable and efficient transmission of electricity across the country.
