How Two Sisters, Who Are NSCDC And NIS Officers, Kidnapped Their Brother And Demanded A Ransom Of N10 million.

Operatives of the Anti-Cult Squad under the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two sisters, Mrs. Juliet Chukwu and Mrs. Nancy Ngozi Chukwu , for allegedly masterminding the kidnap of their elder brother, Mr. Friday Chukwu, and Engr. Igwe Denis Chibueze, the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) of China Oriental Quarry Company.

The suspects, both natives of Amaeze community in Ishiagu, Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, are security personnel—Juliet serving with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Ngozi Nancy with the Nigerian Immigration Service.

Reports indicate that in May 2025, Mr. Friday Chukwu was kidnapped along the Enugu–Port Harcourt expressway. Family sources alleged that a ransom of ₦30 million was paid before his release. Shockingly, weeks later, on Monday, July 14, 2025, Engr. Denis Chibueze was abducted along the same route, with the abductors demanding ₦10 million for his release.

Following coordinated efforts by security operatives and concerned stakeholders, the suspects were tracked to a hotel, where they were reportedly caught sharing the proceeds of the crime.

Further investigations link the sisters to several criminal activities in the Ishiagu axis, including alleged collaboration with criminal elements—particularly suspected herdsmen—to stage kidnappings, theft of railway materials, pipeline vandalism, and other acts of sabotage.

A source familiar with the case expressed concerns about previous instances where similar allegations were left unaddressed, urging the NSCDC and Immigration Service to take swift disciplinary action.

“This case must not be swept under the carpet like the others. The security agencies must ensure justice is served,” the source stated.

The Enugu State Police Command has yet to release an official statement as investigations continue.
