BREAKING: Major Shakeup As Nigerian Senate Sacks Ndume As Chief Whip, Names Replacement

    Senate Sacks Ndume

The Nigerian Senate has replaced Ali Ndume with Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno as Chief Whip, following a complaint from the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership.

The party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Bashir, accused Ndume of making “unguarded utterances” that could destabilize the country.

In a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary, the APC leaders cited Ndume’s recent media interview, where he allegedly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying it was “working with thieves” and ignoring Nigerians’ suffering.

The Senate subsequently held a voice vote, confirming Monguno as the new Chief Whip.
