Nigerian Woman Found Dead Inside Septic Tank
A Nigerian woman has been found dead in Zawiya city in Libya, according to The Libya Observer.
“A woman from Nigeria has been found dead inside an under-construction concrete septic tank in Zawiya city in Libya,” according to a post by a Libyan news outlet on X on Sunday.
“The circumstances of her death are still unknown,” it added.
In January, another tragic case in Libya involved a Nigerian woman and her Ghanaian husband, who were arrested by Libyan authorities over allegations of torturing and starving an orphaned child to death in Tripoli.
According to The Libya Observer, the couple was arrested on Wednesday, January 7, 2025.
Police sources said they were under investigation for allegedly subjecting the child to prolonged abuse and starvation, which reportedly led to the child’s death.
It was also gathered that the child’s mother had died about two years earlier in Libya under what were described as suspicious circumstances, after which the child was left in the care of the couple.
