VIDEO: Sho¢king as Teenager Declared Dead by Father Suddenly Wakes Up at Her Funeral
A 15-year-old girl has reportedly shocked her family and mourners in Guatemala after suddenly regaining consciousness inside her coffin during her funeral.
The teenager, Yuleidy Ixcotoyac, was believed to have died after losing consciousness while her father, Abraham Ixcotoyac, was taking her to a medical centre.
Her father reportedly stopped the vehicle and checked for signs of life but said he could not feel a pulse or detect any breathing. Believing she was dead, he declared her deceased without taking her to the hospital.
“I saw that she was no longer breathing and I couldn’t feel her pulse on her wrists. It was a very difficult situation for me. She did not go to hospital,” he reportedly told local media, according to The Sun.
Hours later, the family prepared for her burial, with mourners gathering at their residence in El Jocote village at about 2:30 p.m.
However, the funeral took an unexpected turn when Yuleidy’s mother, Lesvia Ríos, noticed movement inside the coffin while crying over her daughter.
The grieving mother reportedly alerted other family members, insisting that the teenager was still alive.
“When I was crying over her coffin, we opened the window and she was moving. She was waking up, and suddenly she sat up,” Ríos said.
Footage of the incident shows the teenager, wearing a pink T-shirt, suddenly sitting upright inside the coffin and speaking as stunned relatives watched in disbelief.
The incident has raised questions about how the teenager was pronounced dead without a medical examination confirming her death.
