Stop Dropping $2m Bombs, Build Schools For Herdsmen — Gumi Slams FG Over US Airstrikes

Popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has challenged the United States, US, government to build schools and provide other amenities for herders instead of firing a “$2 million bomb”.

Gumi noted that herders need deliverance from ignorance.

He was reacting to a video of a Fulani man who came found a barrel of one of the missiles shot by the US military in an open field.

Reacting, Gumi said the Fulani man does not understand the danger of unexploded bombs.

Posting on Facebook, he wrote: “Most Herdsmen need deliverance from ignorance and themselves not bombardment.

“He doesn’t even understand the basic creed of Islam and the serious danger of unexploded bombs.

“That’s why I built a school for them. Instead of dropping a $2m bomb that can build schools and amenities for them.”

On Christmas day, the US military acting on the orders of President Donald Trump carried out airstrikes in Sokoto State of Nigeria.

The airstrikes were targeted at ISIS and Lakurawa terrorist groups but missed.

Confirming the incident, the Nigerian government said it was a coordinated attack, stressing that President Bola Tinubu approved the mission.
