Olisa Agbakoba Legal, the legal representatives of Nigerian actress Dakore Egbuson Akande has issued a cease-and-desist notice demanding the removal of a “defamatory Instagram post involving their client”.

A recent social media post on ‘@Gistloversblog’ and related accounts made allegations about Akande’s personal life, suggesting a romantic relationship with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The legal team in a statement, criticised the post as both “suggestive and libelous,” emphasising that it contains false information.

The notice demands immediate action to remove the post, stating, “This letter serves as a formal cease and desist notice.”

The notice also clarifies Akande’s personal and professional background.

“Our client is happily married to Mr. Akande and has been for many years,” it reads.

Furthermore, it notes that Akande has “never met the said Senate President in person or otherwise.”

Olisa Agbakoba Legal warned of the potential damage to Akande’s reputation, describing the allegation as “both damaging and unlawful.”

They stressed that such libelous content could seriously tarnish their client’s public image.

The statement further outlines legal consequences if the demands are not met.

“Failure to comply with this demand will leave us with no choice but to pursue aggressive legal actions,” including seeking damages and injunctive relief, the notice warns.

The legal team has given the social media accounts 24 hours to comply with their demands.

“We shall monitor the situation closely to ensure corrective action is taken,” the notice concludes, underscoring their commitment to protecting Akande’s reputation.
