Peter Obi, Kwankwaso Set To Dump ADC
There are indications that a former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, may defect from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as early as next week. The development, if confirmed, is expected to significantly reshape Nigeria’s opposition political landscape. Spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Habibu Mohammed, disclosed that the planned defection has received unanimous backing from Kwankwaso’s supporters. According to him, discussions with the NDC are already at an advanced stage, with only minor details left to be finalised ahead of a formal announcement. Mohammed also revealed that the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, is expected to join the new political platform alongside Kwankwaso. “Kwankwaso, alongside Peter Obi, is expected to formally join the NDC on Monday or Tuesday. Several other political figures will follow suit,” he said. Kwankwaso is currently in Kano but is expected to return to Abuja soon in preparation for the anticipated move.
