The Police Officers’ Wives Association, POWA, Bauchi State Chapter, has joined the rest of the world to commemorate the 2026 International Widows Day, with a pledge to continue supporting women who have lost their husbands in the line of duty.

According to the Chairperson, POWA Bauchi State Chapter, Haj. Fatimah Sani-Omolori, the event formed part of the Association’s welfare mandate to care for widows of police officers who paid the supreme price while serving the nation.
During the occasion, presentation of empowerment packages were made to the widows of fallen officers across the Command. The gesture, she noted, was aimed at bringing succour and showing appreciation for the sacrifices made by their late husbands in maintaining peace and security in Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.
Furthermore, Mrs. Omolori reaffirmed POWA’s commitment to empowering police widows through skills acquisition and entrepreneurship training, to enable them to become self-reliant and productive members of society.
