How MTN Subscribers Can Access FG’s ₦50,000 Grant
MTN users seeking to benefit from the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 monthly relief programme can check their eligibility by dialling 6710# through the MoMo Payment Service Bank (PSB) USSD platform.
The intervention, known as the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI), is aimed at providing monthly financial support to vulnerable households across the country.
The government said beneficiaries are selected using verified national identity records and the National Social Register, with payments processed through approved providers such as MoMo PSB, OPay, Moniepoint, ALAT by Wema and NairaGram.

MTN subscribers are expected to receive their payments through MoMo PSB.
To check their status, users should dial 6710# from their registered phone numbers and follow the instructions. Those confirmed as beneficiaries must give consent through an official SMS or MoMo notification before the ₦50,000 is credited.
Users without MoMo wallets can open an account by dialling *671# or downloading the official MoMo NG application.
The clarification comes amid the circulation of a misleading social media message urging MTN subscribers whose status shows “NOT ELIGIBLE” or who have not received payment to send “YES” to a purported code to receive the money within 24 hours.
MTN Nigeria Support has dismissed the message as fake, warning subscribers not to follow the instructions or disclose sensitive information.
The telecommunications company specifically cautioned users against clicking suspicious links, sharing OTPs, PINs, passwords and personal details, or making payments in response to such messages.
Speaking on the programme in a statement issued on October 30, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Bernard Doro, said selected beneficiaries would receive ₦50,000 monthly to help meet their basic needs and ease the pressure of living costs.
According to the minister, beneficiaries would receive an SMS from their designated payment providers requesting consent before the funds are transferred directly into their accounts or mobile wallets.
He emphasised that the intervention does not require any application, registration fee or payment to agents.
The government has also clarified that the programme is being implemented in phases, meaning subscribers whose current status reads “NOT SELECTED” may still be considered in subsequent batches, although no guarantee has been given.
For complaints and further enquiries, beneficiaries can contact the NERSI helpline on 0700-022-2222 or MoMo PSB customer support on 671.
