Police Van Rams Into Tipper Truck on Nwaniba Road, Three Persons Hospitalized
Three persons, including a police officer and two women, have reportedly sustained injuries in a road crash involving a police van and a tipper truck on Nwaniba Road, Uyo.
The incident reportedly happened around EM-SSET Filling Station, near the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
According to eyewitnesses, the police van was following the tipper truck before its driver attempted to overtake the vehicle using the service lane.
Sources at the scene said the police driver encountered a parked Hilux after completing the overtaking manoeuvre and attempted to return to the main lane to avoid the obstruction.
The attempt reportedly ended in a collision with the tipper truck.
Following the impact, the two women occupying the rear section of the police van and the driver were reportedly found unconscious.
They were subsequently evacuated to a hospital for urgent medical attention.
As of the time of filing this report, details of the victims’ medical conditions and the exact cause of the accident had yet to be officially established.
