46-yr-old businessman commits suicide After Recording Video Addressed To Family

Tragedy has struck in Ondo Town, Ondo State, following the reported death of a 46-year-old businessman, Akinbolusere Kayode, who allegedly took his own life in his office.
The businessman was said to have died around 3 p.m. on Thursday at his office located near BOVAS Petrol Station in Igba Town.
According to sources, Kayode left behind a recorded video in which he opened up about his business difficulties, humble beginnings and personal life, particularly his relationship with his wife.
In the emotional recording, he reportedly appreciated his wife for remaining supportive throughout his struggles, while insisting that his decision to transfer his properties to her and their three children was entirely voluntary.
Following the incident, police detectives from the Bolorunduro Division visited the scene and reportedly recovered two empty bottles suspected to have contained a poisonous substance.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, confirmed the incident, disclosing that the bottles suspected to have contained Sniper insecticide were recovered from a nearby bush.
He said preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased had recorded a video before his death, expressing his frustrations over the difficulties he encountered in life.
The video has since gained widespread attention on social media.
His remains were subsequently taken to the State Hospital morgue for preservation and further examination.
Police authorities disclosed that the initial examination of the body revealed no visible injuries or signs of foul play.
The Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, has consequently directed a comprehensive investigation into the incident to establish what led to the businessman’s death.
He appealed to the public to refrain from spreading unverified information while investigations continue.
The police commissioner further advised people facing emotional, marital or personal difficulties to seek help and support rather than take decisions that could put their lives at risk.
