BREAKING: Celestial Church Pastor In Trouble Over S3xual Abus£ Of 16-Year-Old Stepdaughter

The Ogun State Police Command has reportedly detained a Celestial Church pastor, Omogbolahan Israel Idowu, following allegations that he repeatedly sexually abused his 16-year-old stepdaughter and threatened to kill her if she exposed him.

The case was brought to the attention of the police through a petition by the Lagos State branch of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), which alleged that the teenager had been subjected to sexual abuse since she was 14.
In the petition dated October 26, 2026, the organisation said the alleged incidents began after the suspect married the girl’s mother, Bukola Rachel Omogbolahan, who subsequently moved into his residence with her children in the Ologbo Ark area of Shimawa, Ogun State.
CDHR claimed that the alleged sexual abuse continued for years and that the pastor threatened to kill the teenager if she told anyone about it.
The organisation said the threats also made the girl’s elder brother fear for their safety.
Following the petition, the Shimawa Divisional Police Officer reportedly acknowledged receipt of the complaint on October 27 and commenced investigations.
CDHR disclosed that the police invited Idowu, his wife and another Celestial Church pastor for questioning. The suspect and the teenager’s mother were subsequently detained after their statements were taken.
The organisation also revealed that the teenager underwent medical examinations at Shimawa General Hospital on October 28, with the results submitted to the police for investigation.
According to the human rights group, the case was transferred to the Ogun State Police Command headquarters in Eleweran on October 30 before being moved to the D3 Gender Unit in Oke-Ilewo.
CDHR further alleged that the pastor admitted to having sexual contact with his stepdaughter while being questioned by investigators.
The group quoted him as saying that he had “only fingered her (name withheld) once and only had sex with her once.”
The suspect reportedly remained in detention at the gender unit as of the organisation’s latest update.
CDHR said police authorities had promised to communicate the date and time of his arraignment once investigations were completed.
The organisation urged the authorities to ensure that the teenager and her brother were adequately protected and that the suspect was prosecuted if found guilty.
It also cited provisions of the Child Rights Act 2003 and the Ogun State Child Rights Law in calling for justice and appropriate support for the minors.
However, attempts to obtain official comments from the Investigating Police Officer, Superintendent of Police Kafaya, and the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, were unsuccessful.
The police spokesperson had yet to respond to messages seeking clarification on the case as of the time this report was filed.
