Tinubu To Nigerians: Pray For Bandits, Terrorists
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to pray for bandits, terrorists and other criminal elements to abandon their evil ways or face the full weight of the law.
In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, Tinubu urged citizens to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, unity and selflessness as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
The President said the Islamic festival serves as a reminder of faith, obedience and devotion to God, while also encouraging Nigerians to support one another and promote peaceful coexistence.
“As a nation, we are on a journey of reconstruction and renewal. The reforms we have undertaken are challenging but necessary to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for future generations,” Tinubu stated.
He noted that the sacrifices made by Nigerians over the past three years were beginning to yield positive results, adding that the economy had become more stable and attractive to investors.
“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” he said.
Speaking on insecurity, Tinubu acknowledged the continued attacks by terrorists and bandits in some parts of the country despite efforts by security agencies.
He, however, assured affected communities that the government remained committed to ending insecurity and defeating criminal groups across the nation.
“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” the President said.
Tinubu also urged Muslims to use the Eid celebration to pray for peace, national unity and wisdom for leaders at all levels.
“Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law,” he added.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture and human capital development to improve the lives of Nigerians.
He wished Muslims a peaceful, joyous and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that Allah accepts their sacrifices and prayers.
“Eid Mubarak! Happy Sallah!” Tinubu concluded.
