Operation HADIN KAI: Navy Marines Overrun Boko Haram Enclaves, Neutralise 34 Terrorists
The Nigerian Navy Marines have recorded another major breakthrough against Boko Haram terrorists, neutralising 34 fighters in two separate operations around the Lake Chad region.
The operations were conducted in collaboration with the 403 Amphibious Brigade of the Nigerian Army as part of ongoing military offensives under Operation HADIN KAI.
In the first operation on October 28, 2026, the Navy Marines launched an offensive against terrorist elements in the area, initially reporting eight terrorists killed in action.
However, a subsequent assessment of the operation increased the confirmed casualty figure to 28 terrorists killed.

Similarly, on October 30, the Marines carried out another offensive strike against a Boko Haram terrorist hideout in Dumba after intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions identified and monitored the location of the terrorists.
Preliminary assessments showed that six terrorists were neutralised in the operation, while several others sustained injuries.
The military noted that further assessments were ongoing to establish the full extent of casualties recorded during the operation.
The Nigerian Navy explained that the deployment of its newly established Marines had strengthened the operational capacity of joint forces under Operation HADIN KAI, particularly in targeting terrorist strongholds and disrupting their activities around Lake Chad.
According to the Navy, the sustained operations have continued to degrade Boko Haram’s capabilities and restrict the group’s freedom of action, while supporting broader efforts to restore security and protect vulnerable communities in the North-East.
The service reiterated its determination to sustain intelligence-led military operations and strengthen collaboration with other security agencies in the fight against terrorism.
