Military Nabs Auta Maikyala in Kaduna, Bombards Dogo Gide-Linked Hideouts in Zamfara

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested a suspected notorious terrorist, Auta Maikyala, in Kaduna State as military forces step up coordinated air and ground offensives against terrorist elements in Zamfara State.
The arrest was made on November 5, 2026, during an intelligence-driven operation by troops of Sector 1, working alongside operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), in Kagarko town, Kaduna State.
The suspect was reportedly arrested inside a hospital where he had gone to receive treatment for a gunshot injury allegedly sustained during a clash with a rival terrorist faction.

According to preliminary investigations, Maikyala is suspected of participating in several criminal operations, including violent attacks on communities, kidnapping and cattle rustling.

He remains in military custody as investigations continue ahead of possible prosecution.
In another operation, troops intensified ground offensives against terrorist groups in Zamfara State, targeting their hideouts in three communities within Maradun Local Government Area.

The military operation, conducted on November 5, covered Aljummu Hausa, Aljummu Fulani and Tunga Magaji villages, where troops successfully cleared several identified terrorist hideouts.
The operation is expected to further disrupt the activities of armed groups and restrict their ability to launch attacks on surrounding communities.

Similarly, the Nigerian Air Force, through the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, conducted air interdiction missions against suspected terrorist locations in Babban Doka and Kuyumbana Forest in Maru Local Government Area.
The targeted locations were suspected to be linked to wanted terrorist leader, Dogo Gide.
The air operation followed credible intelligence indicating that terrorist elements had gathered in the area to coordinate and plan further criminal activities.
Military authorities disclosed that troops are maintaining operational dominance across the general area to prevent the terrorists from regrouping.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA said it would sustain its offensive operations until criminal elements are eliminated and lasting security is restored across its Joint Operations Area.

It called on residents to support security agencies with credible and timely intelligence that could help identify and dismantle terrorist networks.
