“Without Muslim-Muslim Ticket, Tinubu Wouldn’t Have Gone For Umrah As President” – Sani Jingir Declares Support For 2027

Plateau-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has defended the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying he was happy to see President Bola Tinubu performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia.

Jingir, who spoke in a video circulating online, said seeing Tinubu in Mecca wearing the same white clothing as other Muslim pilgrims made him happy.
He explained that the Umrah pilgrimage places everyone on the same level before Allah, regardless of whether the individual is a president, governor, minister or ordinary worker.
“I woke up very happy that I saw Ahmed Bola Tinubu at Mecca. He is in Umrah. Who is the president of Nigeria now? Ahmed Bola Tinubu,” the cleric stated.
He further questioned whether Tinubu would have been able to undertake the pilgrimage as Nigeria’s president if the country had elected someone from another religious background.
According to him, the Muslim-Muslim ticket was necessary, adding that the presence of a Muslim president was significant to his religious beliefs.
Jingir also made controversial remarks about people of other religious backgrounds while expressing his position on religious differences.
Speaking ahead of the 2027 general elections, the cleric openly declared his support for Tinubu, saying he would cast his vote for the President alongside the workers in his household.
“The election that will happen. My vote is one and the labourers’ vote in my house is one. They will vote for the President,” he said.
Naija News House had previously reported Jingir’s endorsement of the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket after he reportedly received a N600 million donation from Ibrahim Masari, an aide to President Tinubu.
